Genesis
Genesis is an open-source physics simulation platform for robotics and embodied AI, released in late 2024 by a large academic-industry collaboration, combining a GPU-parallelized physics engine supporting rigid bodies, deformables, fluids, and coupling, with very high simulation throughput. The project also targets generative simulation, aiming to produce environments, tasks, and data from high-level prompts, and positions itself as a unified platform for training robot policies at scale.

Simulation speed and physics breadth set the ceiling on cheap embodied experience; massively parallel, differentiable-friendly platforms are core infrastructure in the race to train generalist policies without prohibitive real-robot data costs.
