Jaco Arm

The Jaco arm is a lightweight, low-power robotic arm developed by Kinova, originally designed as an assistive device mounted on powered wheelchairs to help users with upper-body mobility impairments perform daily tasks. Built with carbon-fiber links and available in six- and seven-DOF configurations with two- or three-finger grippers, it also became a widely used research platform and appears in several public manipulation datasets.

Assistive arms like Jaco demonstrate manipulation delivering direct human benefit under strict safety and power constraints, and their research adoption seeded demonstration data now folded into cross-embodiment corpora.
