Space Robot
A space robot is a robotic system operating in orbit or on planetary surfaces, spanning manipulators like the ISS's Canadarm2, planetary rovers such as Curiosity and Perseverance, and free-flying assistants and servicing spacecraft. Distinctive challenges include free-floating dynamics where arm motion disturbs the base, radiation-hardened and thermally extreme hardware, and communication delays from seconds to tens of minutes that force supervisory rather than direct teleoperation.
