Battery swapping is the practice of exchanging a robot's depleted battery pack for a charged one, manually or at automated swap stations, so the platform returns to service in minutes rather than waiting through a charge cycle. It is common for drone fleets, warehouse AMRs, and inspection robots, and several humanoid manufacturers have adopted hot-swappable packs; the alternative approach is opportunistic autonomous dock charging.
