Perception

Intent Recognition

Intent recognition is the inference of a human's goal or next action from observable cues such as body motion, gaze, hand trajectories, and speech. Approaches range from probabilistic models over goal hypotheses to learned sequence models that predict reach targets or activity labels, giving robots the lead time needed to act proactively rather than reactively.

Why it matters for physical AI

Anticipating what a person will do next enables fluent collaboration, timely handovers, and preemptive collision avoidance, capabilities that separate genuinely collaborative robots from merely co-located ones.

Put these concepts to work on real hardware

Axol is a dual-arm robot built for physical AI — teleoperate it, collect demonstrations, and deploy learned policies out of the box.
