ViperX 300

The ViperX 300 is a low-cost 6-DOF research manipulator from Trossen Robotics, built from Dynamixel smart servos with roughly 750 mm reach and 750 g payload. It became widely known as the follower arm in the ALOHA bimanual teleoperation platform, where a pair of ViperX 300 arms is puppeteered via smaller WidowX 250 leader arms to collect fine manipulation demonstrations.

Why it matters for physical AI

Affordable, hackable arms like the ViperX lowered the cost of bimanual imitation-learning research by an order of magnitude, seeding the wave of open hardware platforms on which much current manipulation data is collected.
