Xsens Motion Capture

Xsens motion capture is a wearable inertial motion-capture system, now sold under the Movella brand, that estimates full-body human kinematics by fusing measurements from body-worn IMUs through a biomechanical model, requiring no cameras or studio infrastructure. Unlike optical systems such as Vicon or OptiTrack, it works outdoors and in occluded spaces, at the cost of positional drift that must be constrained by fusion or contact assumptions.

Why it matters for physical AI

Portable whole-body capture supplies the human motion driving humanoid teleoperation and retargeted imitation data, letting researchers record natural manipulation and locomotion anywhere rather than only inside instrumented capture volumes.
