Unitree H1
The Unitree H1 is a full-size humanoid robot released by Unitree Robotics in 2023, standing about 1.8 meters tall and weighing roughly 47 kilograms, with high-torque electric joint actuators and 3D LiDAR sensing. It set an official Guinness World Record for humanoid running speed at 3.3 meters per second and demonstrated reinforcement-learning-trained feats including a standing backflip without hydraulics, establishing electric humanoids as dynamically capable research platforms.
Why it matters for physical AI
Demonstrations of dynamic, learned whole-body control on commercially available hardware validated the simulation-trained reinforcement learning recipe for humanoids and intensified the race toward deployable general-purpose bipeds.
